About Iryna
As a lifelong “Visual Nerd,” I’ve been exploring the power of drawing and visual thinking for as long as I can remember. I created my first “wall graphic” at age three on my parents’ walls. That early passion grew into a career spanning more than 25 years in advertising, design, illustration, and visual facilitation, and more than a decade spent teaching creative thinking.
I’ve always been interested in how drawing helps people understand ideas, see connections, and solve problems together. What began as a love of art evolved into a deeper exploration of visual thinking and its ability to make complex ideas easier to understand. Today, I work with individuals and organizations to use drawing and visual thinking as tools for learning, collaboration, and innovation.
An award-winning visual practitioner, published author, and international presenter. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts, a Master’s in Creative Studies, a Graduate Certificate in Creativity and Change Leadership, and a Certificate in Visual Facilitation. I am also an active member of the International Visual Literacy Association, the International Forum of Visual Practitioners, the Creative Education Foundation, and the Quinte Arts Council.
Recently, I was honoured with the IVLA Creative Achievement Award for my contributions to visual literacy through my Visualize It! Toolkit for Teaching and Learning Business.
